The good thing about staying in Paralio Astros is that there are some wonderful places you can visit. Argos is half an hour up the road by car, or about 40 minutes on the bus. It is a very busy, cosmopolitan town with lots of pavement cafes. The archaeological site has the remains of a Roman amphitheatre that originally seated 20,000. In front of this are Roman baths, and across the road is a Roman market, or agora. There is a very noisy, colourful market on a Wednesday and Saturday.
