The good thing about staying in Paralio Astros is that there are some wonderful places you can visit. Nafplion is half an hour up the road by car, or two bus trips via Argos. It is, without a doubt, the most beautiful town in Greece. Wander up and down the back streets and be seduced by the beautiful old houses - a real mixture of Greek, Venetian, Frankish, Turkish and more. There are three fortresses, and the town is dominated by the largest of these - the Palamidi Fortress. Sit in the square, soak up the atmosphere and watch the world go by.
